Croydon 2 outscored by Highbury 1

Sarah, Steph, Dom and Pete in first attack and Kathy, Ed and Johan in defence (3 players). The score went fairly even until 6 - 6 but then Highbury created an important gap of 9 - 6 at half time. The second half was clearly tough on the section with only 3 players but still many shots rolled over the korf instead of dropping in. With and end score of 15 - 8 but having just missed a penalty, about 3 or 4 free throws, about 4 running in shots, a couple of easy rebounds and a handful of medium long shots we could have scored as many goals as Highbury. The referee gave Highbury a load of penalties which were all put in the korf.

Feel free to add more detail or change the spelling and or grammar (if you don't speak or write perfect in Dutch then don't moan lol)

Croydon 3 make their own luck against Nomads 5

A slighlty different Croydon 3 lined up against Normads 5. Starting in attack were Julie, Mark, Martin and Vicky leaving a defence of Ben, Emma, Phil and Lorna. After a team talk and words of encouragement, the plan was for Mark to score first, after not scoring last week. As it turned out it was a case of, will anybody score?? Including Nomads who seemed as equally goal shy.

I do believe the half time score was 1 - 1 or did they have 2? (It was 2-1 at Half time Lorna)needless to say the whole object of the game is to put the ball through the basket, which just wasn't happening. After Thursday's training, Ben was insistent that he would take the collect role, but that quickly went out the window scoring 3 times, but all 3 shots were blown as defended, boo hoo!!

The second half we played better with Mark getting MVP for his collecting / feeding which was fabulous to watch (a right 'the ball is mine'!). The final score was 3 - 5 to us yeah! with all the guys scoring, greedy Martin went for 2 (but that did make us feel safer) and looking at Nomads sheet it was their guys who scored too.

In truth the game could've gone either way, don't know why goals weren't dropping or passes getting to where they were going (May be because you were talking Lorna??) BUT we all tried hard and kept trying with a better second half and supported each other, which helped CKC 3 come through this test as winners. Hope everyone enjoyed the game and have something happy (?) to take away as we did good! Well done x

May I add, that as usual Lorna keep her girl busy with length conversation at the post.(Phil):P
