New stars shine bright as Croydon 3 win 18 - 4 against Nomads 5

Due to the worry of parking, everyone was there early and we the team even had lots of spectators...

One section, starting in defense, of Adam, Annie, Dom and Keri leaving the other section, starting in attack of Ellen, Ian, Kay and Stephen.

The team looked very settled and the passing was lovely to watch. Goals were scored in a whole range of shots. Annie slotted into Adams section again, Keri was usual springy self leaving Dom to control the 3 sharp shooters and managed to score at the end.

Ian was left with our steadfast Stephen and new to the team Ellen and Kay. Ian was using his voice but generally the 4 passed nicely and the 2 newbies were thinking feed, collect, shoot so fab! I was told Susan Wright and Jane Hudspith were looking at one section each so not everyone was giving advice and Luke was writing goals so my job was cheer which was easy!

We started with 2 goals without reply and never looked back from there, as the defence was solid throughout the game. The goals coming from all quarters and all ranges throughout.

The 1st half finished with a score of 9 - 2, and following a quick few wise words from the 2 coaches ( and a last word from "loud mouth" also) we decided to try to a final score of 20.

It seemed we were well on target to achieve this with more goals going in from all, but a few special ones from Kerry who managed to slot 2 great goals from distance, Kay, who managed to complete her hat-trick, and likewise, Annie, Steve and Ian. None of which would have been possible without the rest of the team.

Unfortunately, we just missed our target by 2 goals, with the 2nd half score matching that of the 1st half at 9 - 2, but that didn't really matter as the result was a great one anyway.

With great team performances like this, it is difficult (and maybe a little unfair) to pick a single MVP, as there were just so many candidates, however, on this occasion, that went to Kay, for reasons that should be obvious to all.

Very nice to watch and pleasure to see everyone happy at the end. I trust you all enjoyed the game, well played x

Well done all, it was a great game to be part of.

One final note of thanks for the side-line support from the 2nds, friends and family, but a special thanks to Susan and Jane for the coaching duties, which was well appreciated by all.
