Croydon Golden Oldies

What a lovely afternoon reminiscing of how the game used to be played and how friendships brought together through Croydon korfball club 68 years ago have lasted....

Every year around this time some of the original Croydon players and past players over the seasons get together to have glorious food and to generally catch up with life. I've crashed the event, with Lynda since 2010 and each year find another x-player to join us. Once attended the event is so enjoyable its never to be missed!

The friendships that have been formed between the past players are great to see, stories of playing in snow, rain, or at Tooting Bec with nothing to stop the elements hitting them. You youngsters don't know how lucky we have it, inside sports halls, plus the game when first started was 3 sections so sometimes you had ages to wait ages for the ball to come your way.

They've all had holidays away together and family bonds made, relationships that have developed and blossomed, the Golden Oldies seem to have a fair few Golden wedding anniversaries too!

This time I was answering questions about the 25second rule. Explaining how it doesn't really change how you play in attack unless getting down to the dying seconds and its shoot shoot shoot..

I will add some more later but at least started,
