Highbury 1 made to work for it against Croydon 3

It was the return match on home ground. Starting in attack was Becki, Hannah, Sean and Steve leaving defense of Andy, Ben, Karen and I. I thought it started well as Highbury were a girl short and lucky for us it was in our section! Without the need to pull rank Karen offered to mark the only girl, yeah for me. Even better I have all the goal scorers so the match report is going to contain facts, now thats a first!!

Woo hoo we scored first with a fine goal from Becki. The note says 'by the post' so Miss Pratt I take back what I wrote last week, you are a cheeky girl. Bad news the section of three scored a long shot. Then we either couldn't score in attack or defense was not defending as they let in a runner and long shot. Highbury continued as we then let in another long shot then a drop off. Tut tut.

Come on Andy with a lovely long shot. We may have been finding our feet as passing was better but all change and back to defense, or not as we let one in! Steve who was working very hard well thats not fair as they all were, scored a drop off. And what beauty, when all else fails you use your brain, Becki threw a lovely ball from the top corner and Steve knew dropped back and it was in. It must have sparked something in my head as after seeing a goal the other end I nicely turnedish to Ben who duely scored. Both our sections were settled and playing better. We originally had some bad passes (not a lot) and some irritating passing the ball into the oppostions hands! but we were looking better but half time called 4 to us and 8 to them. Oh the missing girl came on for all of 5 minutes but it didnt really make any difference.

Not feeling better after the break 3 goals let in 2 being running ins that looked so easy... So step up Andy for another long shot, we were still trying oh yes very trying.. more goals scored by Highbury which inspired Ben to score a long shot. Steve then caught the same bug as following Bens goal he scored not 1 but 2 long shots. Maybe he was just warmed up at that point, I was knackered! and I think everyone was (in Croydon anyway)

It would've been good to have stayed like that but either we couldn't score or defense could't defend as Highbury finished off wiht a long then running in shot boo hoo final result 8 to us and 16 to them. A much better game than last time and fantastic effort by all. I enjoyed watching Steve who can do everything, Becki who you think cool the way she just turns to shoot, Sean how much energy and Hannah can run for anything and everything and the thing is she gets the ball! My section I dont look at as I'm too busy moving..
