Croydon 3 dominate the 2nd half to send Pelham packing

In the small, downstairs hall at Epsom college, Croydon 3 faced Pelham 1.  Pelham cut it fine, only arriving 5 minutes before the start leaving Croydon to collect the posts from upstairs and set them up.

Croydon started with Steve Chadd, Martin James, Sarah Withers and Susie Davis in attack, with Pete Lindsey, Dom Bradford, Sarah Hole and Kathy Dean in defence. It was a slow first half for Croydon who had umpteen chances to score but the ball simply wouldn't drop except for a few times. After a break in play while Withers recovered from a dead leg, Croydon went into the break 4-3 up.

Susan Wright gave the players some useful insights at the break and Croydon went into the second half determined to make their dominance show. And this they did.

With steals and intercepts a plenty in defence,  the attacks had plenty of time to work the ball and bury their chances.  With 5 minutes left on the clock, Croydon worked on the 2 players not yet on the scoresheet.  They got their goals and Croydon ran out 17-6 winners.  A good solid win but it could have been so much better if the team converted their chances in the first half.
