Croydon 1 start well against Bec 1 but can't sustain the pace.The first 15 minutes of the game were really close, with Bec scoring 4 and Croydon scoring 3. Not high scoring but very very close, and it felt like we could do something here. After 15 minutes Bec started to score though, and their superior shooting ability, and fitness started to show. Croydon 3 victorious over Bec 5First attack Ian D, Adam D, Kim J and Julie G with defense of Phil A, Martin J, Steph R and me. Starting in attack was the section we thought was more likely to score first, we were wrong! Once they'd had 10 mins or so to warm up they did score but it was a boring and scary defense time, especially as the dodgy ref said I fouled my girl so I gave a penalty (lucky they missed). Once we had settled in though the goals did fly. Best shots I think go to Kim from about the half way line and then Ian had to match it doing the same. Adam missed his penalties but managed to score on the third attempt! Julie made good passes and I was going to shout her name if another penalty had been awarded. Phil scored both goals I think nearly straight away when we did get into our first attack maybe trying to make me put him in first attack next time... He and Martin had 10,000 shots between themselves as Steph and I ran around assisting. All in all a good game, lots of trouble with players stuck abroad (these excuses on why not to play) and kit issues but thankfully Steph kindly played and Ian collected kit.
