Croydon battle hard against a skilled Nomads 2The morning was cold, the hour was early and the team traveled to Epsom. With some stopping for a McDonald’s breakfast and others deciding to have something a little healthier, the team was fuelled and ready for the game ahead. With minutes left before we start the ref called over the captains to confirm that we will be holding a minutes silence and to let us know how she planned to keep the game flowing where possible! Before the game got underway both teams gathered in the centre to hold a moments silence to remember the fallen heroes and reflect on 100 years since the end of WW1. Nomads set up and Croydon follow suit. The whistle goes and its game on! Croydon were pushing hard but let the first two goals in, however CKC didn’t let their heads drop and responded with a long shot…. Goal! 2-1. Sadly the next goal came from Nomads. There were free passes galore……far too many to count! Oh and a few penalties thrown in for good measure. Croydon tried to put up a good fight and stay in the game but even with our Coach tactically using both subs, it was not to be a win for CKC this time round! Sadly the game ended 13-18 to Nomads 2. Well done guys...we look forward to our home game!! :) We can take many learning points away from this game and hope to use these in our following games. Let's keep our focus and keep putting those shots up.... hopefully more will fall through the basket next time!
