Croydon 3 play well against Bec 3

Croydon 3 delivered a confident and dominant performance away to Bec 3, running out 18–5 winners after a strong team display in both attack and defence.

Croydon made the perfect start, quickly racing into a 3–0 lead through sharp attacking play and good movement around the post. Bec responded well and managed to pull the game back to 3–3, briefly halting Croydon’s early momentum.

However, Croydon quickly regained control. Tight defensive pressure limited Bec’s opportunities while the attack began converting chances again. Croydon stretched the lead to 6–3 and then 7–3 at half time, putting themselves in control of the match but things not over yet.

The second half saw Croydon steadily pull further away. The lead grew through 8–4, 9–4, 10–4, and 11–4 before Bec added another to make it 11–5. Croydon responded strongly, continuing to dominate possession and scoring opportunities. Croydon continued to apply pressure and the goals kept coming as the visitors comfortably closed out the match to secure an emphatic 18–5 victory.

Goals were shared across the team, with Sarah Arnold leading the scoring with five, supported by Ben Walsh, Andy Withers and Niamh Miles with three each, Ed Chaney with two, and single goals from Richard Burrows and Rachel Harker.

A special mention goes to Sarah Arnold, who finished as top scorer with an excellent performance fittingly on Mother’s Day. 🌸

Croydon 3 will take plenty of confidence from such a strong all-round performance as they head into their next fixture.
