So close for Croydon 3

The thirds were at home to West London and had a the usualish (if there is such a word) line up. Dave Smith was too slow to answer so starting in attack was Andy Burnham (welcomed back), Micky (just back after Daniel's 18th party), Becky (she must be the most consistent player) and myself. Defense Lynda and Angela (back from the weekend that everyone seemed to go on), with Vernon (he didn't stay on the ground) and Dave (who had the choice of first attack)>

For once I remember who scored first !! but then it was me and a running in shot which is strange enough not to be forgotten. Mad thing is next attack Mick feeding again and I did it again! All change, Lynda the ever copy cat made 3-0 and then a change at 4-0 to us? What was happening? I don't know but then as we all know life sucks and West London started finding the basket. They have jumpy guys and we had sloppy passing and some try-to-be-clever passing which didn't work.

At half time we were up by 2 I think and as Dave said simple korfball will win us this game. We then went back out and took long shots which their boys went fishing for or just intercepted. Both our sections got penaltes which Andy and Dave duly converted. I can't remember if we gave any but the ref was as good as he was (and it was his first game!) Just wish he could have been better as West London were physical and I believe we should have had more decisions but then I assume Croydon players then just gave it back (I did, if that doesn't get me into trouble).

End result we lost!! 12-11.

Woking Win

The 4ths turned out a full team this week for an impressive win over Woking 2 9-4.

Sections were Phil, Dan P, Julia, Beccy D - Steve, Jon, Steph & Emma. This game was won with brilliant defensive play as well as the good attacking.

The quote of the week was from 2 Woking players in attack, one says to the other: "Our attack plan isn't working they seem to know exactly what we are doing" to the reply "Impossible, we don't even know what we're doing".

Well done team well fought, well won
