They started with Jon, Becki and David in defence and Steve, Bryan Charlotte and Zoe in attack. This being Remembrance Day the ref nearly didn't remember to show up but did so half way through the first half by which time Croydon were 3-1 up and looking fairly comfortable. They had conceded an early goal but bounced back with goals, one from David from about 3m and a running in shot from Becki . At half time honours were about even and Croydon changed formation so that Bryan and Zoe had the misfortune of playing with Jon as a threesome. Nomads raced to a 2 goal lead in the second half which they maintained for some time despite a cracking long shot from Zoe. But there were quite a few free passes given to both sides for playing through and Steve's enthusiastic young opponent was getting frustrated, conceding 3 penalties two of which he converted. The game finished with honours even at 7 all. Oh, I forgot to mention Nomads conceded the game on Saturday because of ineligible players so this was just a friendly but a good work out for some new players. Thanks also to the 2 young supporters who hopefully will be in the youth teams before long.
