They looked slightly different to normal in a mixture of kit from black and white, red and blue (say no more Dawn :)) In first attack were Tom, Ed, Hannah and Ren (who had already gallantly subbed on for the second team.) In first defence were Ben, Josh, Annie and Dawn. Croydon 3 started strong and the first two goals came from Tom with a clever running in shot and then an impressive shot from around 5 metres. As sections switched Nomads scored, however Croydon were still dominating the attack and Dawn did a great job in collect and must have a recycled the ball 6 or 7 times. The next goal for Croydon was created by a long shot from Josh that was picked up by Ben where he slotted in for a short shot under the post. As sections switched, the attack continued to look strong; Ed was dominating collect, Hannah was getting into good feeds and Ren was battling against a very strong opponent. Tom, who’s shooting was on fire, scored another drop off from Ed’s long shot, making the score 4-1. Nomads scored another goal and then Ben collected a rebound to slot in another goal. Defence were working very hard and Annie was particularly keeping her player quiet. However, the next 5 minutes were all Croydon as Tom scored his fourth goal, quickly followed by Ren who scored a shot from around 3 metres. As section switched, the final goal before half time came from Dawn who had a strong feed position and cleverly turned from feed to make the score a very well deserved 8-3 to Croydon. The second half started pretty well however Nomads had certainly come back fighting. They scored 2 goals bringing the score to 8-5. Hannah and Ren were both attacking well and working together with the Tom and Ed working the post; Ren then scored another lovely long shot, this time from 4 metres. As sections switched, the attack of Josh, Dawn, Ben and Annie were dominating their players resulting in Annie scoring a shot from around 4 metres. As the game was drawing to a close, it became quite nerve wracking to watch as Nomads managed to claw back 3 goals. Croydon were certainly not giving up and were working tirelessly in defence. The final Croydon goal came from a running in shot from Ben fed from Annie. The final score was 11-9 to Croydon 3, with a well- deserved win. Well played all!
