Croydon 2 take control against Nomads 3Croydon travelled to Epsom for a morning match up with Nomads 3. The game started off with Dom, Andy, Kay and Laura 1st attack and Zu, Simon, Kathy and Karen 1st defence. Unfortunately we struggled to start exactly how we wanted with Nomads scoring to quick goals to make it 2-0. But that seemed to be the wake up call Croydon needed. We suddenly got much better defensively and started to put in the goals ourselves. The game was still fairly even at 4-3 to Nomads when Simon was forced off injured and Tom entered the battlefield. But from this moment on Croydon never really looked back, getting to half time with the score at 8-11. Half time talk was to just cotinue playing our game and be strong defensively and we would see the win out. After spreading the goals around nicely, Croydon put in a confident second half display and ended up running away with the game 12-18. A great team performance, sticking to the gameplan and producing some really nicely worked goals. MVP goes to Tom for stepping in effortlessly and for one sumptuous assist to Zu in particular. With Vik, Tom, Hannah and Anneka in first attack! Ben, Mark, Emma, and Charlotte were in defence! Heading off to a strong start Nomads struggled to get their game planted. By half time Croydon were carving a gap between them with them leading by 2 goals. ALL Change! Or should I say charge as the second half commences with 3 incredible goals from Vik, Anaka and Ben! With spirits high, concentration slipped allowing two goals in from Nomads! Not allowing them to close that gap Croydon answer these with two more! Holding them back with an unbreakable defence the match continues! As the closing minutes loomed, with victory in sight the defence breaks again! Allowing two more goals in from Nomads! Regaining there hold Croydon push back with seconds to go! Final whistle a defeated Nomads hang their heads as Croydon stand Victorious!!!
