Never fear with the intelligence to think who called me Adam Stevens kindly rang me back and jumped out of bed (could be a dirty rumour but that's where I heard he was at 12.20) and agreed to come and guest for us 5ths. With no ball to warm up with the eight of us took shots with small blue balls that where around. Martin then turns up? Jon very kindly reminded us that he had a sore back and would start then come off for Adam hence giving him MVP for sportsmanship. Plus he stayed to watch then joined by Karen, Dan (nice to see you and what a surprise) and Alan. The game, in first attack were Harriet, Jade, Martin and Steve, leaving defense of Callum, Jon, Nel and myself then Adam for Jon. Both teams were slow to start and Bromley using Nels girl to feed let Callums opponent score a runner. Not to be left out Jade fed for Martin to do likewise! I started to pay attention to the score when I realised that Jades section was struggling and we were 3 - 5 down. Players were caught out on switching, cutting out the feed and passing appropriately. The team needed more match time for example, instead of one hand can get to the ball in collect try to use two and catch rather than swipe. Maybe I did get a little annoyed with my opponent and frustrated how the game was being played and did try more in the second half to intercept and score in attack. Everyone worked hard and I assume unlike the friendly Highbury games of last week no one left the hall injured. Have fun over the festive season and keep playing as that is the best way to learn!! xMatch Report by Lorna | Updated by Lorna Previous photo Next photo1 of 2 Final Score: Croydon 5 5 vs 10 Bromley 2M James (1)C Elliott (0)S Raffield (0)A Stevens (0)J Dean (0)L MacKay-Elliott (4)J Arnold (0)H Smith (0)S Sukwah (0)Submitted by Lorna on 17 Dec 17
