Croydon started with David Hughes, Beccy Lockett, Jade Arnold and captain Adam Champion in attack with Alice Fischer, Corinne Flood, Vik Kugadas and Andy Withers in defence. Croydon started well with Champion and Hughes causing trouble and it wasn't long before a penalty was awarded which Champion duly converted. Croydon carried on in this vein with a penalty from Withers (won by Kugadas) and soon raced to a 3-1 lead. Nomads came back though but Croydon were playing well and goals came from Champion, Arnold and Withers and the half ended 7-6 to the visitors. Croydon came into their own in the 2nd half with great defence and great goals from Flood, Lockett and Fischer. Nicole Miles came on for Arnold and before long Croydon had raced to a 4 goal lead. Nomads scored a huge long shot to make the visitors a bit nervous but time was running out and further goals from Withers meant a 3-goal lead and in the final few seconds, Kugadas won and converted another penalty leaving Croydon jogging off 12-8 winners.
