Croydon 2 deservedly beat Bromley 2

The Seconds arrived at Langley Park on Sunday, excited for their first game in over a month against Bromley 2. Under guidance from new coach Karen Palfreyman, we had a clearer idea of our roles in each section and communicated well with each other throughout the game.
In first attack Annie, Hannah, Dom and new Dad Tom got us off to a 2-0 lead, whilst a young Bromley team put defenders Ed, Callum, Karen and Kathy (back from injury), through their paces.
Croydon looked pretty comfortable for the majority of the game, 5 goals ahead at one point. Something slipped in the second half and Bromley caught up to 13-12. Nerves didn’t get the better of Croydon however, and having calmed our game down Callum ensured victory with a lovely long shot with barely a minute to go.
Final score CKC2 15-13 Bromley 2

Another great win for CKC4’s

With experience against youth once again Paul gave some sensible words before the start which appeared to give us a good grounding surging to a 3-0 lead which was quickly diminished but the experience of CKC made the difference always just keeping ahead and edging further ahead to finish 15-9.

Well played to everyone, a very welcome return for Adam sinking 3 but Anna must have the MVP as she managed to find spaces where there shouldn’t have been, even after Jules had to retire due to knee problems (hope its ok).

Congratulations to David sinking 2 and showing rare emotion after the 2nd as this was his 100th recorded league goal for CKC. Not to forget the other players Gwenda and Steve both of whom showed intelligence with shot selection, sadly not managing to find the korf. Sadly Sarah had to reign in her shots otherwise there is a good chance the score would have been higher, Jules played a storming game, tough in defence but sadly her knee injury after a collect forced her to miss the end of the game and of course to Paul who again found the korf 4 times.
