Thrilling winning start to the season for CKC1What an exciting first game to watch, or actually second but buzzing from 3rds who lost but played superbly. First game of new season and already plagued with injury! Thankfully, new coach Johan stepped up so as not to disrupt the rest of the teams. Not sure on first defence or attack but sections were - Anna, Dan, Hannah and Johan /Ed then Callum, Kathy, Ryan and Sarah. It looked like watching a first team and they played hard. Passing on point. I can’t remember the goals but sure the first was a beautiful long shot from Dan setting the bar Croydon meant business. Sarah also sank a long shot at the beginning so being in different sections I assume we were drawing. From the sidelines I felt we were in control throughout. Balls recycled not silly passing maybe some shots that should’ve scored or one shot attacking but generally in control. You’re not supposed to love them but you’ve got too, BLAM by Hannah and also (though sure he could’ve caught it) a smash from Callum at disgust of trying a sneaky pass. MVP went to Dan who put up with shoulder barges and a disgusting sweaty armpit at one stage, but he had his player everytime HAT TRICK too. I think girls let most of the goals in but they all scored so cancel those out. A very enjoyable start to season I didn’t get around to chatting to fellow supporters as too into the enthralling game. Sections were Abi, Callum, Char and Chris with Charlotte, Dan, Rebecca and Rob Considering it was the first adult games for Abi and Chris it didn’t show and Rob who hadn’t trained or played did pretty well too! It was always going to be a tough game and in all my years of playing I was shocked when Nova called for sub and changed a whole section! Totally unfair, There’s Croydon short and they’ve got untold spares! it didn’t seem to phase Croydon though. Char her usual energetic self was all over the pitch and unfortunately the floor. Deserved penalty and converted to whole crowd delight. Abi and Chris ran at two speeds working for space My favourite is both put shots up which as I also say is halfway to scoring! Callum arms everywhere intercepting balls. Other section, Charlotte steadfast in defence, Dan all over pitch and looking for Rebecca with gorgeous passes and she got them. She shot but her gorgeous pop shot wouldn’t come. Rob so pleased and hope his arm wasn’t twisted too much to play very good grasp of the game. Anyone can add anything.
