New CKC Coach Announced

Croydon Korfball Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Ronald van der Bunt as head coach for the forthcoming 2002-2003 season. Ronald's korfball curriculum vitae is second to none, and includes periods coaching the national teams of both the Czech Republic and Great Britain. Ronald has been a member of Croydon KC since moving to the UK in 1999.

Croydon KC's chairman Paul Jeanes commented that "Ronald's appointment is a tremendous boost to Croydon Korfball Club. I can think of nobody better equipped to bring the best out of both our experienced and our younger players, and guide Croydon towards some much-sought after silverware. I would also like to take the opportunity to publicly thank our previous coach, Steve Jones, for his considerable contribution to the club over the last two and a half years. In this, and an earlier spell as coach, Steve has guided Croydon to some of its finest moments, notably winning the National League and BKA Cup competitions."

Croydon KC have also confirmed that Dave Rotheram will continue as principal club coach. Dave has extensive experience coaching Rugby League, and is currently coaching youth teams for the London Broncos. He also acts as a coach to other rugby league coaches. Dave has been playing korfball at Croydon for the last few years. He brings to his coaching sessions an outsider's perspective and a work ethic that is all too often lacking in British korfball. His sessions are challenging but still highly enjoyable as well as thought-provoking.
