CKC accepted onto Jack Petchey Award Scheme Croydon Korfball Club is delighted to announce that it has been accepted onto the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, opening up a fantastic new opportunity to celebrate and support the club’s young people. The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme is the Foundation’s flagship programme, recognising outstanding young people aged 11 to 25 across London and Essex. Groups accepted onto the scheme can celebrate young people’s achievements and access a package of grants worth up to £6,400 per year to support their activities. For CKC, this is an exciting moment for our thriving junior section and the brilliant young adults who help make the club such a positive place to play, train, volunteer and grow. Korfball is built on teamwork, fairness and shared effort, and the scheme gives the club another way to shine a spotlight on the young members who bring those values to life. Through the scheme, young people can be nominated by their peers for an Achievement Award, recognising effort, progress, commitment, resilience, teamwork or personal achievement. Award winners receive a certificate, pin badge and a book about Sir Jack Petchey, and they also choose how a £300 grant should be spent to benefit their club or organisation. A Croydon Korfball Club spokesperson said: “We are incredibly proud to have been accepted onto the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. Our juniors and young adults are the heart of the club. They bring energy, commitment and joy to everything we do, whether that is on court, helping younger players, supporting teammates or representing CKC in the wider korfball community. This scheme gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate those contributions properly and to invest in activities that will benefit our young members.” The Jack Petchey Foundation was created to inspire and motivate young people across London and Essex to do their best and reach their full potential. The Achievement Award Scheme is designed to recognise those who go above and beyond, not only for academic or sporting success, but also for personal triumphs, effort, courage and being a great team player. Croydon Korfball Club looks forward to using the scheme to celebrate the achievements of its young people throughout the season. Celebrating today. Inspiring tomorrow. One club. One team. One passion. Korfball.🔥 1Story by Andy · 6 hours ago
