LDKA Rule Change

LDKA adopts the restart rule

Note the following announcement from the LDKA:

After receiving input from the majority of clubs the LDKA committee has decided that all LDKA indoor league games from 1st January 2006 onwards will be played using the restart rule. We acknowledge there was never going to be a solution which satisfied all clubs but this solution has been based upon the feedback received.

We would direct you towards the BKA and the BKA website for further information on the restart rule, any fully qualified referee will also be aware of the restart rule and can help with your understanding.

The introduction of any rule whether at the start of the season or during the season is likely to cause some element of confusion and the referee has a difficult enough job as it is. We would remind all clubs to encourage their referees to report and punish any dissent or abuse they receive during the course of refereeing a game.

Guidelines for this can also be found on the BKA website.

If you find there is insufficient information available through the BKA or the fully qualified referees you have contacted then ask a member of the LDKA committee for clarification.

Thanks for bearing with us regarding this matter,

James Magowan (LDKA Chairman)
