Croydon Under 11s Fight Hard Croydon under 11s played their first tournament of the season on Sunday at Trinity School. They took on teams 2 teams from Nonsuch as well as friendly rivals Nomads. The Croydon team included 2 under 9s playing their first ever u11 matches, as well as experienced under 11s who played hard throughout. The first match was extremely close, with Croydon going one goal up early in the match, and holding that lead for most of the remaining time. Nomads equalised though, and in the dying minutes of the match, a fantastic long shot from Nomads gave them the lead. A great effort from the Croydon team though. The next match was against Nonsuch 1, who had some tall and experienced players. Our team fought hard but couldn't hold them out. In the final match, the Croydon players put their tiredness behind them and came out blazing. They worked together as a team and it paid off, as they ran out 6-0 winners.
