Juniors at Croydon Korfball Club
Croydon Korfball Club has the largest and friendliest junior contingents in the UK, with super-experienced, friendly coaches who have played at the highest level and also coach regional junior teams.
In the last few years our juniors have gone onto to represent England at international tournaments and won regional tournaments for London.
We train on a Thursday evening from 7-8pm at Royal Russell School in Croydon, and in the summer term we move outdoors to the astroturf at St David's School in Purley.
Training sessions are open to all children from year 3 to 8, with each age group having dedicated coaches for each session - our minis are years 3-4, juniors are years 5-6 and youth are years 7-8.
During the session, we concentrate on improving fundamental skills, such as catching and passing, and work on fitness levels through fun exercises. Then we work on korfball skills, such as shooting, team work, attacking and defending. All sessions end with a friendly match.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is korfball?
Korfball is a dynamic, mixed gender sport with similarities to basketball and netball. Boys and girls play together on the same team but you can only mark the same sex.
The aim of the game is to score goals! You can read more about the rules here.
How much is it?
We operate on a half-termly basis £30 each. You can also attend four free sessions, simply contact us to arrange a date.
My child has never played before, is that a problem?
Absolutely not! We are an inclusive club by design and almost all of our players join us as complete beginners. We can explain everything your child needs to know and have plenty of helpers on hand to make them feel at home.
All they need to know is how to run, throw and catch - we'll take care of the rest!
Do you play competitively?
Yes. All our players are encouraged to take part in the monthly London Korfball Association tournaments against other local clubs, plus outdoor tournaments in the summer months.
Some of our players also represent the sport at county and England level – 6 of our players won gold at the England Korfball Association's Inter Area Competition in 2022 and 3 were selected for England U15s in 2024.
Can parents stay and watch?
Parents are welcome to stay and watch. We even sometimes drag the parents into our fun Christmas and Easter specials!
