Golden Oldies Reunion

Croydon Korfball Club are delighted to introduce Bryan Burr as our new 5th team manager.

5 is the magic number for Bryan as he enters his 5th season with the club, joining after it was recommended by a friend of veteran player Susan Baker.

Speaking about his decision to join the club originally he insisted its friendly nature was key, something that led to most of his family giving the sport a try.

“My son Alex plays in the seniors, Louise played for a couple of years and Elin is in the juniors… It’s inclusive (the club). Everyone makes you feel welcome.”

On entering a 5th team Bryan believes it’s great news for those seeking more game time but has stressed the need for players to make themselves available when possible, especially when all teams are in action.

“It’s good with the number of players we have, especially males… as long as everyone puts their names down.”

Looking ahead to the new season Bryan is keen on both the 4ths and 5ths kicking on and learning from previous experiences. However it is important that going into every game the players remember to enjoy it.

“I’d like to follow in Jon’s footsteps, as 4th team captain for the last several years. He was good at motivating, picking people up and team talks.”

We wish all the best to Bryan and the 5th team in their first season. Keep up with their progress plus the latest interviews, news and developments at www.croydonkorfball.co.uk.

(Remember to help make Bryan’s job that little bit easier by updating your availability too!)
