Abingdon Korfball Tournament 2009Several weeks ago, we were informed by Royal Russell that they were seeking to cease any hire of its sports hall on weekdays to external organisations, with the intention of reserving its use exclusively for school use. This has now been confirmed, and as such, we have been required to find a new training venue. AS ROYAL RUSSELL WILL STILL BE SUB-LETTING THE HALL FOR WEEKENDS WE WILL CONTINUE PLAYING OUR HOME FIXTURES AT THE SCHOOL AS PER USUAL. Since being informed of this potential scenario, the committee have been investigating alternatives, and we are delighted to announce that following negotiations and inspecting the facilities, the committee have secured a new venue for both Squad and Club training commencing the start of the 2015/16 season. The timings and dates of our sessions (both club and squad) will remain the same and will now take place at: Quest Academy (Monks Hill Sports Centre) Farnborough Avenue South Croydon CR2 8HD We are very satisfied with this new venue which is just a few minutes down the road from our previous location, it has easy access by public transport – the tram stop (one on from Coombe Lane) is just a 5-10 minute walk, as is the bus stop (Route 64). The hall has a 1 year old sprung flooring, suitable lighting, good height and has dimensions of 33m x 18m. While the hall is not quite as big as Royal Russell, we believe it is more than adequate for training. If you have any questions please feel free to raise them at the clubs AGM which will take place at Sanderstead United Reformed Church on Monday 15th June at 8pm, or alternatively contact a member of the committee. The committee would like to thank Anna Jeanes for all her hard work investigating possible sites and securing this fantastic venue for us. This years Spring training will continue at Royal Russell on Thursdays, 8:00-9:30pm until the Croydon tournament (1st week of July).
